Music Video Final Cut

After getting feedback from the people that were in my video, friends and family I decided to improve my video and I have tried to be extremely precise with my lip synch singing editing as some people noticed that it was not bang on therefore that was my priority, I believe I have done the best I can to try to get it on time with the music and I do think it does look better from the first draft. I have also added some more cuts on time of my music to make it look sharper and in time with the beats. I got some feedback from one of the media teachers at my school and they asked me to try to mess around more with my go pro split screen as they believed that the effect was lost as you could not focus enough on it due to how long the screen looked, therefore I have split between both of the people in the video to show how its continuous but also that its two different people which I believe now is easier to follow. Another thing I changed was some on screen text message, for "I'm s...

Upgrade of Digipack and Poster

After doing my evaluations and looking into my feedback, I decided to change my poster and digipack. I did feel like my work was not strong enough and was perhaps letting me down, therefore I decided to update it and create my final versions. I will try to show on my next evaluations my updated versions however for now I will not be able to change my previous work as I have already published them. I started off by making my digipack stronger, I was never certain that my first version would be the final one as I was not confident with it as I felt something was missing and it was not as unique as my other products, therefore I decided to look into my digipack research once more to see what I could do to make my digipack look realistic. This is the final outcome, I decided to keep incorporating the idea of my primary colours to keep the band identity but to make it even more obvious, I also decided to move my logo into the background making my star (Russ) look even more 3D, I believe thi...

Evaluation #4

How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages? I decided to create this evaluation as a Powtoon as I have not used it previously making it fit into the question more as I am using another new software to write my evaluation. I have created 3 Powtoon's due to not being able to fit all the information on one, therefore the order of these are in chronological order to make it easier to follow.

Evaluation #3

This blog post contains a YouTube video for the third evaluation, "what have you learned from your audience feedback?". I decided to do this evaluation as a video as I believe its a lot easier due to how informal it can be. Please enjoy yet another chatty long video:)

Evalutation #2

In this blog post I have linked my second evaluation which was created on Emaze. The second question was based on how effective my combination of the main product and ancillary texts were.

Evaluation #1

In this blog post I have embedded a video from YouTube which I filmed myself for the first evaluation. The question was about how I have challenged the change codes and conventions of real media products when creating my own media products.

The Message

Graph showing how younger adults throughout the years are rising. My aim for my music video was to try to create a meaningful message for the audience. My message was about alcohol awareness, I showed this message by having the narrative show the main character Tom/Drummer, waking up and instantly looking at a half empty bottle of whisky knocked over next to a photograph of his lover. He also drinks the alcohol early in the morning to show his addiction. I chose to film teenagers for my music video to show how alcohol as a young adult can be dangerous and can cause damage to your health and to the people around you. I believe that I could have made this message more obvious by perhaps showing a poster in the background of a scene, or even someone handing him a leaflet about alcoholism and he could have got angry and threw the paper away. There are also two scenes in my music video which show Tom/Drummer "seeing" his lover at the train stop which is caused by drinking too...

Behind the Scenes

I decided to create a behind the scenes video to show the process of filming my music video, I put the order of the videos into a similar order as my official music video to show the bad shots and how fun it was filming. I left the editing basic as I think that it looks natural and matches the music.

Draft of Music Video

Here is my first draft version of my music video to Imagine Dragons-Amsterdam, to the genre Indie. I will hopefully be creating a focus group to get feedback in lesson time, however if not I will be asking for feedback from family and friends to help me improve for my final cut.

Minor Crisis' Digipack

This is my band's digipack cover, my aim was to create a black and white themed digipack but with 3 specific colours for each band member, this was to incorporate the look of my music video with my digipack due to my video containing pops of colour. I decided to keep the outside simple as it is mainly black and white and for the inside to explode with colour but to also match the theme. I wanted to make my digipack quite personal to the band, hence why I have added a personal message from the band including signatures, one panel contains a quote from the song Amsterdam which is "Believe me when I say, that I wouldn't have it any other way", I chose this quote as I believe that it works well with the band as it shows that the band want to be together. The cd panel has film strips on it with photographs of the band, I did this because I wanted to do something involving around film strips or polaroid film for my poster so I wanted my digipack to be able to be a mixture ...
