Evaluation #3

This blog post contains a YouTube video for the third evaluation, "what have you learned from your audience feedback?". I decided to do this evaluation as a video as I believe its a lot easier due to how informal it can be. Please enjoy yet another chatty long video:)

Evalutation #2

In this blog post I have linked my second evaluation which was created on Emaze. The second question was based on how effective my combination of the main product and ancillary texts were.

Evaluation #1

In this blog post I have embedded a video from YouTube which I filmed myself for the first evaluation. The question was about how I have challenged the change codes and conventions of real media products when creating my own media products.

The Message

Graph showing how younger adults throughout the years are rising. My aim for my music video was to try to create a meaningful message for the audience. My message was about alcohol awareness, I showed this message by having the narrative show the main character Tom/Drummer, waking up and instantly looking at a half empty bottle of whisky knocked over next to a photograph of his lover. He also drinks the alcohol early in the morning to show his addiction. I chose to film teenagers for my music video to show how alcohol as a young adult can be dangerous and can cause damage to your health and to the people around you. I believe that I could have made this message more obvious by perhaps showing a poster in the background of a scene, or even someone handing him a leaflet about alcoholism and he could have got angry and threw the paper away. There are also two scenes in my music video which show Tom/Drummer "seeing" his lover at the train stop which is caused by drinking too...

Behind the Scenes

I decided to create a behind the scenes video to show the process of filming my music video, I put the order of the videos into a similar order as my official music video to show the bad shots and how fun it was filming. I left the editing basic as I think that it looks natural and matches the music.
