Here is my focus group presentation which also has been filmed and has turned into a video uploaded onto YouTube therefore I have placed my presentation first and below is my video, some of my focus group ideas are already decided on however this is due to my analysation of my survey which I did not long ago and some ideas for the focus group were decided on by me such as the band name as I feel very confident in the name.
Analysation of the Focus Group
With the help of our class we have decided to stick to our original idea of having the first minute of the storyboard as it is already planned and to have one of our split screen ideas later on when the beats in the song get stronger and faster so that the editing can be fast pace. We have decided to leave the lover out of the video unless there is a time where the video needs her in it or if we struggle with ideas, this is because we all agreed the video should focus on the brother's relationship. Our costumes will always be in the indie genre to match, but to also have different outfits in the video to the narrative. We do also want something to makes each member of the band stand out so that they are easy to recognise. Our teacher suggested a café location which I really like the sound of as I have just thought of an idea of using reflections of the windows in the video and to perhaps show a quick glimpse of the lover walking past to show one that one of the brothers is thinking about her so much he is starting to see her, how I could make this obvious that he is seeing things in his head right now I do not know but I am going to think about it more throughout planning the storyboard. Another idea from our class was to show that the brothers are in different locations which I am not sure we will be able to show very well, however we will try to work on it and see if it is possible to make everything blend nicely and to look realistic. However due to showing the brothers using different methods of transport may show that one is a little more organised compared to the other and knows how to spend money wisely due to one of them travelling by car, therefore I am not sure if using different locations might be needed, but if the idea works we will definitely use it. When it comes to our logo we will be trying to design it properly next, by inverting the colours, perhaps changing the font to something more bold and to mess around with where to place the band name. Our class also helped us decide on how to edit our video colour scheme wise, we did forget to write this on our focus group presentation however I did manage to remember whilst presenting to ask, with people suggesting their ideas of having the narrative monochrome and the performance in colour I am very happy with as I personally have not seen many videos with this idea which I am looking forward to do as I did really want to try if these coloured lenses in the studio would work with the video.
