Minor Crisis Merchandise

After creating my website I decided to create a few of my band's merchandise, I did this due to most websites having a merchandise section, therefore after creating these t-shirts, etc. I tried to add them onto my band's website, however to add more sections to my website I would have to pay to advertise more products to sell as I already had my band's "album" on sale and I had my music video displayed for free, therefore I decided to add my merchandise onto my blog to show what my aim was when creating it. My merchandise would not be too expensive due to the band being so new, the prices would range from £4.99-14.99. I firstly created a simple unisex t-shirt for the website, if I could have I would have written that you could order the t-shirts in sizes XS, S, M, L and XL in white, grey or black, it would also come in a cropped version too. I chose to have monochrome background colours to stick to the indie theme and to keep the aesthetics the same. I chose t...

Editing Update #2

After editing my music video in a basic manner such as putting every video into the correct timings, cutting them down, etc. I showed my family, friends and some teachers my music video as it was to tell them what my next aims are when it comes to editing after getting their feedback, some of the feedback that I received were that they did not understand my narrative enough, therefore I have decided to film again today to try to improve this before moving on to the next step of throwing all of my editorial skills into the video. What I decided to do was film one of the beginning shots again by showing one of the brother's drinking alcohol to show that they have a slight addiction to alcohol and they use it as a coping mechanism to get over the break up that he is going through which was caused by his brother. Another idea that I did was film some work around text messages, this is because I wanted to find a way to tell the audience what the story is to make it easier to understand ...

Minor Crisis' Poster

Here is my poster for my band Minor Crisis which I created on Photoshop, I decided to combine all of my ideas into one for my poster by having a black and white cloud background to match my band's website and the polaroid film strip was to combine with my digipack as one of my covers were film strips. I added on the date of my album and social media logos to show to the audience how you can listen to their music and where you can get more information about them. I also kept the colour theme which is monochrome to match the indie genre, and the colours red, blue and yellow are to match my digipack as each character has their own unique colour. Below is another poster for my tour which again was created on Photoshop, I decided to go for a different background which still matches the genre, by sticking with a monochrome background it gives off a moody vibe which I believe represents the genre well as stereotypically indie bands have the "I don't care" vibe to the...

Editing Update #1

After editing my music video I decided to film one scene once again of the mother in my video, this was due to the lighting not working out well for me and I felt that it was not as strong compared to my other videos, therefore today I have decided to film at an earlier time and to make it look like the brothers in my video are calling their mum at anytime of the day no matter how early which is why I will perhaps change her costume to perhaps a dressing gown instead this time, the costume originally did not look natural enough therefore maybe even a simple casual costume would work better. I also decided to film one of the brother's once again for the phone call scene, this is because originally I did not like the location that I had chosen on the first day of filming as the train station looked a little too early for a phone call in the video as it would look like he was constantly jumping around from one place to another, on the third day of filming which I went out to do alone ...

The Making of the Logo

I was mainly inspired by brands such as Makeup Geek and Gucci, this is a personal preference and idea as I am a fan of these brands and their logos have always been favourites of mine due to the fact they are so simple yet so easily recognised, which was exactly my aim for my logo. Therefore I started to come up with ideas on paper and drew out some plans of what I could do, the idea of interlocking letters was my first plan which you can see where I got that idea from, drawing M and C interlocked was difficult, but without having an image of the logo I wanted to create I knew would help me when creating it on Photoshop. The next idea was actually inspired by a phone case by Nievus, I ordered some cases from the website and what I really liked about this phone case was that it had a letter and on top of that letter you had your name, so the first letter would be your first name's initial, and when they wrote your name every time your name would land on a certain could it would go t...

Minor Crisis' Website

I have decided to create my band's website on Wix, I chose this website as I have used it before for other subjects therefore I knew how to create the look I was going for. I would say I was inspired by The Neighbourhood's and Imagine Dragons' websites the most, I combined the ideas of having a lot of shapes and a monochrome theme but with some colours to match the scheme of my digipack, video and poster. It has not let me changed the song name from Imagine Dragons' to my band's name as it is not their song. It was really fun creating this website and I believe it matches the indie genre very well. To check out the whole website here is the link to it, the website features my music video, a place to add tour dates, an about section and shows information about the band's press, management, etc. https://lina4325.wixsite.com/minorcrisis
