Performance filming day, the day we have been waiting for and one of our band mates cancel's due to being ill, however luckily one of my friends helped out last minute which he knew that he would be our next person to go to if there were any problems, each band member had a back up person to play the role, that is one thing from my AS work I did learn as people cancelled on us on the day and we were not prepared therefore this year my aim was to have ideas on who to ask next in case anything happened in which it did. Apart from that everything went smoothly, I had the instruments ready for my band mates which were borrowed from my school's music department and the guitar and microphone were borrowed by my media teacher (thank you to them), my photography teacher also allowed me to use his studio to be able to film the performance side of my music video. I came to the studio an hour early to set the lights, camera's, props, lyric sheets for each band member with each of their lyrics that I wanted them to lip synch sing highlighted all ready for them as soon as they would get there. I am very happy with the look of the band as although I had a last minute cancellation my friend who agreed to do it still had an indie costume with him. The "brothers" wore similar clothes which made it look more obvious that they were brothers in the performance compared to the video which was my initial aim as I believed it would have been too cheesy to make them look in any way similar in the narrative as I wanted to show they were different and that their "mistake" is what makes them so similar. The lead singer was very quick at learning the lyrics, he was a natural I would say, as he did not need much direction as once he heard the song he knew what vibes he needed to give off on camera to match the genre. The musicians also managed to get into their role as they practiced playing whilst I was filming the lead singer alone so that they would look natural and that the beats would match the song. So far I cannot see as to why I would need to film the performance again as I was feeling much more confident in filming this compared to the narrative, however that may have been because of knowing that going to the city would be harder to film again due to us all having part time jobs, whilst filming at school would be easy for all of us to come back to at a break. After filming I am looking forward to editing the rest of my music video and to see how I can try to make my video as unique as possible by showing off my creative style along with focusing on my chosen genre.
