The Making of the Logo

I was mainly inspired by brands such as Makeup Geek and Gucci, this is a personal preference and idea as I am a fan of these brands and their logos have always been favourites of mine due to the fact they are so simple yet so easily recognised, which was exactly my aim for my logo. Therefore I started to come up with ideas on paper and drew out some plans of what I could do, the idea of interlocking letters was my first plan which you can see where I got that idea from, drawing M and C interlocked was difficult, but without having an image of the logo I wanted to create I knew would help me when creating it on Photoshop. The next idea was actually inspired by a phone case by Nievus, I ordered some cases from the website and what I really liked about this phone case was that it had a letter and on top of that letter you had your name, so the first letter would be your first name's initial, and when they wrote your name every time your name would land on a certain could it would go the opposite so that you could read it clearly. I found this website through Instagram in which ended up being useful to me. Because I could not write "Minor Crisis" inverted on my drawn up design I left the idea written down to not forget the final touch at the end of the editing.
Inspiration for the logo

To create the logo I used Photoshop, I firstly had to find my perfect font, I went onto "dafont" and searched through the website the most bold looking font, in the end I chose the font "Lemon Milk", I downloaded this font so that I could use it on Photoshop, I wrote the M and the C and placed them on top of each other to know exactly where I would want them to interlock, after playing with the idea I did not like it as much on the computer therefore I decided to make the "C" look like it was hanging off the "M". After sorting that out I added on "Minor Crisis" over the middle of the logo so far in the same font, for this part I had to go around my letters and group them to then rub out the letters to make them inverse just like the case I was inspired by. Overall I am extremely happy with the final look of my logo, this is because after planning the look from September I have managed to create exactly what I have been designing from scratch on paper. I feel like the logo is exactly what I had pictured in my head, it is clear what I have been inspired by, in which the brands that I have been inspired by are very much my style which makes the logo which I have created feel very personal, I also feel like the logo matches the genre, I went for the traditional black and white look to work with the conventions, looking at the logo now the font reminds me of Imagine Dragon's font for their logo due to how bold and sharp the edges of the letters are. However I do believe still that this is a very unique idea as I do not know another brand that has the fading look on it apart from the phone case brand that I had taken the idea from, therefore by having this different look on a band's logo will make my band look modern.
